September 2011

Fall, HERE WE COME!

At last, it looks like the heat of summer is finally moving on south! Our garden flowers are showing the signs of a long summer but are still displaying beautiful blooms. Our son Jon is now the new music director at a new high school in Florida. We are thrilled for him, and he will do a great job. His marching band season will begin in October and we hope to fly down sometime this fall and cheer him on. Emily and Adam are both back in school (along with their research requirements), and are looking for a very busy yet rewarding semester. Emily has spent the entire summer testing strawberry plants in hopes of unlocking the mysteries of a mold the that attacks the plants. Like most research she is finding more ways things don't work than do.  David and I have adjusted to the empty nest way of life but we sure MISS OUR KIDS!!

***Fabric arriving soon***

Over 100 new bolts of fabric have recently arrived and more are on the way. We are again expanding our Civil War, 20's 30's reproductions and much more.

Much of our fall and winter prints are now in the shop and they are beautiful!!

The 2011 Christmas fabrics are still coming in, and we are very excited about the many projects they will help you create.

Remember to present your Guild Card and receive a 10% discount on all regular priced items every time that you shop in the Cottage.

2012 "BUCK A BLOCK" WILL START IN JANUARY

I am very excited about the two fabric colorways we have chosen for the coming year. A beautiful Teal Oriental and a lovely Green and Peach. Sign up for the BUCK A BLOCK will begin later this month so please come in soon and take a look at the fabric choices. Remember to bring your finished block each month when you pick up your new block strips and pattern.

We are always excited about the classes that we are able to teach. However, the Cottage is small and space is limited. We may add dates as needed to accommodate the number of students who sign up. Several of the students have commented that they appreciate the personal attention they receive when there are fewer in the classes. We limit 4 students to machine classes, and 6 to 8 in hand stitching classes, depending on the project .

New class schedules will be posted soon.
